The Clubs are open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We are not open on the weekends, however in certain circumstances, we may be open for scheduled field trips or Club events.
The recommended drop off time is by 9:00 AM to ensure your child will participate in field trips and core activities! Breakfast is served between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM for members. If your child comes after the breakfast time, please make sure they have already eaten or bring a snack with them.
BGCGC serves members breakfast, lunch, and snack. These meals are healthy and FDA approved. Your Unit Director will have a meal schedule provided at orientation. If members do not want the meal provided, they can bring their own lunch and snack!
Yes, however, medication must be in the bottle with the exact prescription from their doctor. Medication your child needs must be in the Member Tracking System (MTS), which will be filled out upon enrolling. Click here to view the Medication Policy Form.
Yes, we do accommodate children with special needs, however, it depends on severity of need. We unfortunately do not have the capacity to give one-on-one instruction which can include: diapers needing to be changed, having to be potty trained, etc.
Yes, but it is not the Club's responsibility to keep up with member's electronics or for any lost or stolen items. There will be time after activities are complete when members can use their electronics, but we do not allow members being on social media while at the Club.
Shoes must be closed toed. Heels may not be out. Contact your Unit Director for additional questions. For members playing sports or participating in physical fitness activities, open toed or open heeled shoes can cause safety issues.
View or download the Parent Handbook here.
Please review the parent handbook in its entirety before enrolling your child(ren) in the program!
Yes, there will be several opportunities to attend orientations with an in-person or virtual option. See your Unit Director for an orientation schedule.
If our computers are down for any reason, the paperwork will give us access to all important information such as: medication form, field trip calendar, lunch calendar, and member information. Parent portal allows us to house member information in a database.
Remind is required because this is the main line of communication should any emergencies or announcements need to be made regarding the Club or your child.
Please contact your Unit Director for the code to the Remind group, or view it in the parent handbook!
A 121 Form (shot record) and birth certificate is required to attend the Club.
Scholarships are available; however, you must apply with MDHS (Mississippi Department of Human Services) and receive a denial letter.
Website: https://www.mdhs.ms.gov/
Phone Number: (601) 359-4500
If you are denied, scholarships are provided on need bases. See your Unit Director with the denial letter and ask for scholarship application.
Yes, paying for the week still holds your child's spot.
If your child will only attend for one month, you do have the option to only pay for that month! Please contact your Unit Director should you only need to pay for one month.
No, we do not give refunds.
The Summer of Innovation camp is $50 per week. It totals to $400 for the entire 8 weeks of summer. This does not include the $25 application fee.
Yes! You will receive the field trip schedule at orientation.
NOTE: Due to rules and regulations from the MS Department of Health, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast will not take four-year-old Club members on field trips.
Yes, members are required to wear t-shirts on field trips because this helps identify them. You can view and fill out the t-shirt order form here. There will also be copies at the Club's front desk.
There are no field trips for the first week because since t-shirts are required, we need to make sure all members receive/purchase a t-shirt before taking a field trip. The first week will be the introduction week to summer camp!
You will receive a field trip schedule from your Unit Director. Location and dates will be provided on that schedule.
Elements of a Scholar Athlete (ESA) Academy aims to get more young people, on more teams, for more playing time, while fostering a sense of belonging, and building life skills and self-confidence in each youth.
This is a developmental league focused on developing the skills, mindset, character traits and resilience it takes to be a scholar athlete. ESA Academy helps youth to learn the balance between sportsmanship and competition. All Clubs have members who participate in the ESA Program!
During summer, basketball and track & field will be the sports we focus on. Fees are $10 for members, and $20 for non-members. You can register at bgcgulfcoast.org/ESA.
Torch Club is a character & leadership program that is a chartered small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 10-13.
Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation.
Members in Torch Club help raise funds selling concessions at the Club for field trips, community service projects, and for rewards.
Occasionally, your child may ask for money for Torch Club. This just means they need a few dollars to purchase concessions/snacks.
