How you can help Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast

The holidays are a time meant for celebration, remembrance and giving back.    Thanksgiving kicks off the season for many who enjoy a meal surrounded by loved on nice nap and maybe a favorite movie or shopping for amazing deals!  But there are some who do not have these precious opportunities afforded to them.   The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.   The holidays is most certainly one of those times many of the children we serve need us most.   Through community partnerships and support from groups like the Secondliners Mardi Gras Club, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast served a Thanksgiving meal at each of our five locations at no cost to the attendees.  Orange Grove Rotary Club is sponsoring Christmas gifts for all elementary age children at our Forest Heights location.  Coast Electric is currently conducting a toy drive and the list of support goes on and on.  We are certainly grateful for these special partnerships.

#GivingTuesday is a day set aside for those who want to give back during the holidays.  This special and meaningful day is celebrated worldwide.  How can you help Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast on #GivingTueday?  Sponsor a Kid!  By sponsoring a kid you are giving them a safe place to learn and grow after school.  Did you know 88,960 kids in Mississippi leave school with nowhere to go?  They risk being unsupervised, unguided and unsafe.  Boys & Girls Clubs fill the gap between school ad home.  We provide welcoming, positive environments in which kids and teens have fun, participate in life-changing programs, and build supportive relationships with peers and caring adults.

$1250 supports one child attending the after school program for the year that's about $24 per week for programs that include, Education, The Arts, Health and Wellness, Career Development, Character and Leadership.   Save a life, sponsor a kid today!!
