]Districts in South Mississippi have New Hope Program staff who are now within the districts as Behavioral Facilitators or Behavioral Specialists.
The Behavioral Facilitator focuses on behavioral modifications and social skills. The behavioral facilitator provides individual sessions and assists with the school districts behavioral intervention plans. The behavioral plans are a key part of increasing transitional efforts for children who are experiencing challenges. The behavioral facilitator works with the students directly throughout the school day; this helps to provide consistent interventions which leads to a high transitional rate.
The Behavioral Specialist offers specialized training in behavioral observations and intervention planning. This New Hope Program employee is a member of the (IEP) Individualized Education Program team within the school district and provides consistent implementation and evaluation. Also, the behavioral specialist provides training for teachers and administrators regarding behavioral techniques. For more information, please visit: newhopecenter.org.
